Carter took the mic. "I'd like to dedicate this song to a very special girl." he said winking at Marilyn. "Because I know how much you like it when I sing to you."
He took a deep breath as the music filled the room. He began to sing. He smiled when he was finished and rejoined Marilyn. Marilyn watched in shock as Carter began singing. Her expression was dumb struck and slightly embarrassed. Open displays were never her strong suits...but Carter didn't know that. Heat was rising in her cheek and her toes felt numb.
"What..." She went to say something but was ultimately unsure of what to say. There were so many pairs of eyes around them...watching. Her breaths were coming out short and choppy. Was she having a panic attack?
She searched frantically for Rafe and seen that he was right behind them. Marilyn looked at him for a moment before turning back to Carter.
"That's was beautiful..." Which wasn't a lie...but any situation that brought too much attention to her at this point wasn't good...Not good at all.
