Kellen walked down the hall with all the enthusiasm of a condemned man. Yes, he'd perhaps rushed his homework a bit before handing it in - a bit - but he hadn't thought there would be anything worth a summons over. Which is what the owl had not-so-politely delivered to him at the breakfast table this morning.

And bring him he had. Sure, it was his fault he hadn't copied his homework onto a new sheet of parchment, but who'd put the comments there in the first place? Sabel. He glanced over at the other boy and managed a smile despite his mood. At least this was his first negative brush with a teacher. Sabel was going make himself public enemy before winter break hit.

They reached Kade's office and Kellen knocked twice before sitting on one of the benches. He finally said, "Maybe you should leave most of the talking to me, yeah? After all, I was the one who handed it in without fixing it."
