Year by year,
I sing a song
To tell you where you ought be placed.
This year, no different
I've a story to tell
Of how you come to be sorted.

Miss Ravenclaw sought wisdom,
In those she prepared to teach.
Those that loved books and learning,
were those she wanted to meet.

Slytherin, a man of wit,
sought children with cunning and skill.
The purest if blood make it into his house
for the ones he admire will.

Gryffindor wanted bravery,
chivalry and pride.
His students make it all the way,
And never stop besides.

Miss Hufflepuff, the last of these,
only wanted students,
loyal and eager were those she taught.
The ones that were never meager.

And so, you see,
I knew them well,
and I'll know where to put you.
Don't be afraid,
of what's to come
because of what's inside you.
