Oh Merlin her lip. Her lip was wibbling. And she still looked as if she was going to cry and all things magical HELP HIM if she did. He had really not expected this at all when he'd decided to go for a walk.
"I know you want to go home," he said quietly, "But you can't just yet. We still have classes..."
Which probably didn't matter to her much, but he was a fifth year. OWLs were coming up, he couldn't cut out on classes for weeks at a time. Neither could she, really.
"Look... If you wait just a bit longer, 'til it's time for the holidays... I promise. You can go home, and I'll go with you if you want. And I'll explain to Ola what happened to her boots, too. Then maybe she won't get too mad?"
Hopefully Ola wasn't an older sister with tiny feet and an angry disposition. And what was he even saying this for - what if her family members were all like her? Overwhelming, they'd be.
