<.< >,> v.v ^,^! Eager to find a good, second row center seat, that would leave her far enough away to not be the center of attention but close enough that she would not fall asleep and stop paying attention, Ivory literally skipped in her class.
It was a class that she was anxious to get to due to the fact that well...she quite literally knew almost nothing of it. Sure she'd stayed up late last night going through the textbook but it looked like the class was going to be a challenge. And so far away from home with pangs that didn't seem to ever go away, challenges were what she needed to distract her.
Nevertheless, she was still shy and nervous, not as much as she'd been on her first day mind you, but still enough to give her pause on a new professor and a new class. Being a first year was a stressful thing, she could tell you. She didn't use to have such colorful vivid dreams that was for sure.
Nervous and excited, she found her way to her seat, her eye's downcast and scared to bump into anyone and happy she'd made it early rather than late.
As she removed her textbook from her mokeskin belt, she finally looked up and noticed that Professor Lupa was in the class already as well.
She hadn't had many female teachers but Professor Lupa seemed of a charming combination of grace and casualness that was usually hard for a women to get right, since it was hard to be one of the guys yet still be ladylike. Looking her over, Ivory decided she liked her. She seemed tired as if she'd had very little sleep but still wore the I'm-Your-Teacher-and-This-is-my-Class-and-You-WILL-Learn look. Sympathetic now, since she herself had been staying up reading trying to prepare for all her classes and had thus been running on a smidgen of sleep only, Ivory decided maybe she would try a hand at being brave.
She put on the most unnervous smile that she could on her face and with a friendly almost as unnervous voice she said, "Hello Professor Lupa, it's...it's...a pleasure to meet you." |
