When Jake revealed that the rinsing of the blood was hurting him, Gabriella withdrew the cloth. She was done cleaning him up anyway. She couldn't imagine why someone would want to do this to Jake on purpose, but she said nothing of that matter. She knew Marcus had probably already taken care of things.
She tilted her head to the side as she examined Jake's nose. It was indeed broken, but she felt it useless to say that aloud. Of course he already knew that much. He already
felt that much.
"Alright, Jake, close your eyes. When they're closed, I want you list any ten magical creatures you can think of," she said. She knew it sounded random, and she knew he'd probably find it silly; but she also knew him seeing a wand pointed directly at his face would make him even more nervous than he already was.
