Blushing at the idea of being considered one of the brightest and hottest, Ivory concentrated on not letting her hair shade red as well. It's all she needed, someone to find out what a failure her abilities were.
Deciding to just jump into the conversation before she noticed, Ivory began recounting the classes she'd attended.
"Well, I've attended all my classes of course, but I guess I really haven't been present since my mind has generally been elsewhere worrying about something or other." She admitted regretfully. "But that's all going to change tomorrow... hopefully. I can't wait for Charms."
As she looked at Satine who seemed to be listening attentively, she wondered if maybe she should confide her secret. Her mind felt like a deer caught in headlights at the thought of revealing that side of herself and she decided to be as honest as she could and just let things work themselves out.
"I know I'd probably come across as a 'stuck up know it all' if I said that I'd read most of our text books already, but you have to understand it's only because I grew up in a half wizarding half muggle way of life, although to be honest it was mostly muggle." A small crease developed between her eyebrows as she looked back. "I didn't have a bad childhood," she paused for moment. "Not technically. I just well never fit in, so I was really excited to start school in a place where I could just be myself. Although well I guess I'm still finding out who that is." |
