No wonder that memory wanted Christopher into the pensieve itself. It had to show a memory of Melinda, Jade and one third person, who the girl had never recognized in her life, except if she looked, and listened closely. It was Dante, one of her foster parents and it had been a recent meeting among those three. Actually it all had happened a year before Melinda had been declared dead.
An argument happened there, Jade claiming that Dante's harrassment against Melinda was causing enough trouble to make her die soon, something Dante had no pleasure of getting acknowledged of, he needed the girl alive for the next twenty years, at least, in order to complete that destiny he had tried to fulfill for all his life.
Then Melinda's words came. She was in deep disbelief, she looked from Jade to Dante, and viceversa. She felt betrayed...Had Jade known Dante's position all along? It looked like she did...
