"And your excuse for a flower is pretty much part of the smelly category, kid," Ian said all this conversationally and even cheerfully, as he stuffed all his belongings inside his bag. He didn't bother to write down the homework.

Trying to flatten his unruly hair without much success, the boy looked down at the flowers on his desk and then at the boy. He shoved them at the little one. "Keep them. Might help you kill off that odor." Wrinkling his nose and patting the boy's head awkwardly, Ian headed out of the classroom to ... well, he didn't even know.
