"And, who knows if you'll get hurt coming back from the healer's- I would rather see this all the way through," he said with a definite nod. He chuckled as she talked about what she would tell the nurse. "Maybe I shouldn't come if you're going to get me in trouble," he said with a grin.
Chris listened quietly before nodding. "Well, good- guys like that don't deserve a woman like you... leave him behind," he said, pointing his thumb over his shoulder. He smiled as she mentioned someone mending her heart. "Well good- I'm glad they're making you happy then," he said with a smile. As she looked away, Chris came over and sat next to her on the couch. "Then don't," he said simply.
Alex giggled a bit as Chris spoke, "Dear Merlin! I am not that clumsy! In fact I am barely clumsy at all! I just happen to be slightly delicate." She grinned at him. "I will be okay, but I would love to have you come with me." She said with another laugh, "and I promise to not tell on you!" She said giggling more.
Alex nodded as Chris spoke, though she remained silent. She felt him come sit next to her on the couch and she leaned her head on his arm, almost not thinking about it. "Okay, I will leave him behind." There, she had said it out loud, and though on the inside her heart tore into a million pieces, she knew it was for the best. "They are making me happy." She replied with a happy smile. Chris was making her more happy than she ever had been. She looked up at him and smiled more. "I won't..I shall think of happier things."
