Cadence felt him reposition her and hug her tighter, neither of which she objected to. She heard his voice distantly, something about the nurse. Was she in the hospital wing? What had happened? Had she almost drowned? She didn't remember blacking out. Her heart started racing again and breathing quickened, her grip on him tightening again. "Nate! Nate!" she said, her eyes snapping open to look at him. "Nate, please don't leave. Please." And now the tears finally came... hot and salty, they left a light burning sensation on her cold face.
"What makes you think I was going to leave? I'm right here and I always will be." he said hugging her close. He had no idea if she was serious about thinking he was leaving but it was good to here her speak. It felt like a weight was lifted off him.
