A bit taking by surprise with her question he didn't knew if he should tell her that he hadn't been in his dorm at all. "Hmm... wrong with my bed..." Looking down as he had been caught doing something wrong, he hesitated a bit. "Well the bed is good and most of the roommates don't snores... well not too loud." Giggling as he said, he glanced up at her. "Well some of them too but it's not that loud." Deciding that avoiding answering was probably not the smartest idea he gave in. "Well... I... I didn't go to bed last night." Whispering the last part, he didn't want anyone else to hear that. He look twice of each side and came closer toward Professor Lawson. "It's the astronomy homework... I'm trying to finish it but I can't. but... but... I"ll finish it... I will do it even if I have to stay awake again this night." Firmly nodding, he was hoping he wouldn't have to do that but then again... who knows.
Iliana laughed quietly and took a seat by the fire. She wouldn't intrude on her Gryffies' space but, if she was going to be here for awhile, might as well get comfortable. She sat the muffins on the cushion beside her and said, "I'll keep that in mind."
She listened intently as he explained, smiling in all the right places. "Oh Mat," she said with a frown. "Honey, do you need some help? I can post a notice on the bulletin board for you. Something along the lines of
"Gryffindor boy in need of a study partner! Who will rise to the challenge and help us earn points?" How does that sound?"
Oh how she wished that she could help him. She was great at Astronomy in her day.

Overhearing the boys' conversation, Ili shot them a cold glare and cleared her throat. "BOYS!! We do NOT speak of fellow students like that! No matter how much you dislike them. I'll expect you to remember yourself in the future." Especially in front of her. She couldn't believe it. She was standing RIGHT there.

She listened to his story in silence, trying to keep her composure. "Did you hurt him?" she asked quietly, fairly certain of what his answer would be. After all, why else would he have gotten detention? Oh her poor Jake.
