Fortress of Brilliance ღ Mommy Quad Katie smiled brightly in a way of greeting William. She had missed him quite a lot, but catching up would have to wait until later when they weren't in the middle of class. "Legend happened." She replied to his question, as if that said everything and should make all the sense in the world. To her, it really did.
Oh yes, he didn't do a thing. It just so happened his butterfly was the only to be a mutant out of too many others to count, because that made sense. Right? Pshhh. "Perhaps next time you could refrain from screaming the incantation and speak like a normal human being, and then maybe - just maybe, you'll have a normal sized butterfly." MAYBE. Katie still had her doubts. At his remark she lowered her tone a tiny bit, still completely calm - or as calm as Katie could be, anyway, as she responded as if answering someones question and not sort of bickering. "Better to be a girly, butterfly loving weirdo than a mountain board riding, dirt loving boy." "Hey!" Katie 'HMMPH'ed, eyeing Legend as he handled the poor twitchy thing that should have been an equally beautiful, graceful flying color fluttering around the room with the others. "I didn't mean it as 'will it work to shrink it with a spell' I meant it as asking permission! Seeing how it is Professor Pilliwickle's classroom and she told us to practice a certain spell, which was not that. It seemed more proper and polite to ask first," The brunette clarified sharply, not at all appreciating the manner Legend spoke to her in. As if she were dumb! HMMPH.
Walking back to her desk beside the two boys Katie slipped back into her seat, the white butterflies she had conjured returned to her but what surprised her were the blue ones, darker than her pure snow white ones but lighter than several other blue butterflies she had seen other students conjure. Katie gasped, her face lighting up. "They're so pretty!" She gushed to Will in a hushed voice, not wanting to scare the butterflies away. A giggle escaped her slightly parted lips, watching them near her. "You did a good job, William."
Legend's was, surprisingly, back to a more usual butterfly-size. It was like going from beast to beauty in the matter of minutes, and it still made a point of disappointing him. It came to her, just like Will's had. Katie grinned, "You only say that because it left you. And it's pretty now, you did good too."
Now, she wanted to try another color. With her butterflies she hadn't really thought of one particular color, and wasn't disappointed to have the pure white ones. But Professor Pilliwickle said to practice, so practice she would. Getting a better grip of her wand, Katie gave it a wave. "Papilio!" Nothing. The young Hufflepuff blinked, confused as to how that could be. She'd done it two out of three or four times just fine. "Papilio!" Although the two brown butterflies that flew from her wand tip were nice, they weren't the bright, vivid red that had been the image in Kaitlynnh's head. She frowned at them. The wand waving, she thought, was fine. . but then what was she doing wrong? Glancing to the side at Legend, Katie's attention shifted back onto the brown butterflies. Hmm, maybe it was Legend and his bad butterfly energy messing her up. Yeah, that was it.
