There was absolutely no way Professor Duskurk would open his classroom without being present. He had carefully arranged the desks into a horseshoe around the very edge of the classroom so that everyone had a clear view of the blackboard at the front of the classroom and the center floor. In front of the blackboard was a small table covered with a black cloth. There were clear outlines of something other than the table under the cloth, but that was all. Professor Duskurk stood beside the door with a clipboard. "Please state your name and then take the first desk available, working clockwise around the room," he said in a no nonsense voice as each student entered the room.
