"Red and yellow card." he corrected while thinking how to explain it shortly. "Yellow card is a warning, means 'watch your actions'. It is usually given when a foul is done. Red card is more serious and it sends off the player from the game. When a player collects two yellow cards, a red is shown. Once it is shown, the team cannot substitude that player, and have to play one man short. The referee can give directly a red card too, but the foul must be really violent, which happens very rarely." This wasn't short at all. Wince. He felt the urge to conclude it. "So yellow card is warning, red card is sending off. Then again, not every action gets a card. A card is usually shown only if the action is serious, or the player is insistant on fouling." Man, even his conclusion is long. He really needed to learn how to explain shortly.

Oh, hard question. He pursed his lips to estimate the time. "Rules shouldn't take long, a few days at most. Then you gotta watch some matches to really understand the rules." It took him a well 30 games to comprehend which foul needed a card, and which didn't. If someone understood that, he had understood football anyway in his eyes. "Then, we need to practise." He smiled to show that practising would be fun. Playing football was always fun. The excitement or horror of goals were not to be missed. And doing all this with Marie would be even better. She was clever, friendly, enthusiastic and really beautiful. He bounced on his tiptoes, waiting for anything else she would say.
"What, you can't use your arms either? What do you do if a ball is coming at your head?" Not wanting to get hit in the head, or worse, her face, Marie knew that she would probably put her arms up to protect herself. Then it hit her what he said, you can use every part of the body except the arm area. Looking at him she asked "Are we suppose to hit the ball with our head?" 'I'm not letting a ball hit me in the head,' she thought as she rubbed her head as if she had already been hit.

"Oh sorry, red and yellow cards. So the first yellow card is like a freebie but the second yellow is basically a red?" Thinking about this for a minute she suddenly says, "Wait, violence gets an automatic red! I thought you said there was no violence in this game? So much for that huh," she said with a little giggle. Then looking at him she said "Have you ever had a red card for violence?" She couldn't picture him being violent at all, then again looks could be deceiving. She never pictured Rex being mean when she met him, then he turned on her and her house on the train.

'Watch a match with Evan? Does this mean he wants to spend more time with me?' she thought. Guess there was only one way to find out, just ask him. "So you are willling to take all this time to teach me about this game? You don't mind giving up your time for me?" She knew she didn't mind giving up her time for him, not that she felt like she was giving anything up. "Watch matches, how are we going to do that? They don't play football anywhere around here do they?" Yep, this was definately going to be her favorite sport if it meant spending time with Evan.
