When Chaucer mentioned the smoke that had latched onto his clothing and hair Allison felt great sadness. Poor boy! The thought of having such a cruel intoxicating smell filling her nose made her wince. "Oh Chaucer, that's awful. I'm so glad you were able to do it, though. I mean your hair...it's so beautiful." Which made her self-conscience of her own. On any nice warm day it would have been silky and fallen in neat waves towards the end of her neck, but because the morning near the lake had been foggy and moist, her brown hair was frizzy and uncontrollable. With a knee-jerk reaction Allison combed her hair with her fingers.

Bullying?! Well, he'd have to find Kellen again and give him a proper talking to. Likely the father's influence; the big brute always disliked Chaucer's way of dealing with things and more often than not instructed his will counteracted his own. "Be sure I'll be speaking with him then. Picking on a young girl is no way to act, none at all! My, he's so impressionable." He lifted a hand delicately to his face and gave a little sigh. Chaucer had been worried for himself, but if what this girl said was true than Kellen was the one that may be heading for disaster! I will guide you, dear cousin, along the path of the righteous! This thought was completely interrupted, never to be seen again, when the girl followed with the words that rang poetically in his ears "your hair... it's so beautiful". He supressed the grin of pride that was welling in his chest with great difficulty, barely managing to play a reserved smirk of confidence on his thin mouth instead.

"Thank you dear, thank you. It's quite good, I know!" He padded his hair fondly before noticing the obvious distress on the girl's face. "Ah, but I have the wealth to access only the best products so I really have no excuse... Oh! I have just the thing!" From his leather satchel-that-was-not-a-purse, Chaucer took out a small spray bottle. With small rapid steps, he went up behind her and pulled her hands out of her hair -"You'll only muss it that way". He ungloved his hands and, with impressive speed, squirted a few quick spurts onto her hair, running through it with his spindley fingers. He looked up at Arya while he fussed...

Tearing her gaze from the window she looked at Allison wisper about the Chaucer. She looked Chaucer over with slight amusement. He didn't act mean like Allison said Kellen did. So she didn't see the need to be bothered by the small factor of them being related.Taking the candy she stuffed it into her bag."Thanks, i'll save it for latter."

"Sounds nice...the community not the neighbor."She lazily siped her drink, peting Perseus with her free hand. "So does every dress and speak like you?" She said this with ginuine curiosity as she looked at him with wondering eyes. She didn't want to affend him but she couldn't hold back her curiosity anylonger.

"Mercy, I should say not! No, they all dress in whatever happens to be expensive at the time and displayed in a shop window. I've seen periods where they outdo myself in their dress followed immediately by periods of such modesty, it feels rather like the depression has sunk in! Such is the way of those who have no idea what drives them. It must be a sad existence." Though this may have been true, he smiled nonetheless. Chaucer, in a way, actually liked how everyone else at home dressed the same; it left less work for him to appear unique. Often a simple hat would do the trick, though he preferred a more complete ensemble when possible.

He looked down at the girl whose hair he was still working with. "La la, almost forgot about you I did! I think we're done here though, yes..." Chaucer gave a discerning stare at it for a moments before confirming with a steady nod. "In weather like this, I often have to spray myself a few times a day. Little trade secret you can put under your cap." He gave a wink that came off more effeminate than he probably intended.
