Cadence let out a small laugh at his comment about the girls being the ones to defend him.
"I can't imagine why they'd defend you!" she said, her sarcasm evident. She could totally understand what it was about Tyler that would make girls defend him until they're dying breath.
She certainly would.
It got quiet for a moment. Not the awkward sort of quiet, though, that had passed between them many times previously. It was just... quiet. Looking down at the table, Cadence said sweetly and softly,
