Then when she told him not to say anything about last night he snickered, "hmm? What am I not supposed to say anything about? I'm afraid I don't understand Tariana." he grinned to show he was teasing and would keep his mouth shut. Jake nodded and stabbed his eggs, not gloomy. He was glad she was here with him, that helped exceptionally but he miss Quil, Embry and Seth, heck, he even missed Leah! "I miss everyone, y'know? Seth with his childishness, Quil and his jokes, Embry and his calming manor, and even Leah with her harshness, though she's mellowed down." Jake looked up in time to see Tyler waving, he grinned and waved back enthusiastically. "You know, I like that guy though. He seems cool!" "You're going to bring back ashes? Oh so you're the one with magic now?" Tariana growled as she lifted her head; she really wasn't a morning person, and Jacob was testing her patience and self control. Without even thinking about it, her nails had dug into the table, leaving deep indentions. And when Jacob played dumb over what she wanted him to keep quiet about, she seriously had to refrain from ripping her book-or his face, for that matter-in half. He was making her very angry, like a lion in a cage. And then he mentioned the wolf pack members from his home and her heart softened: little Seth; who followed her around like a puppy, Embry; who was like the brother she never had, Quil; her best friend apart from Jake and Leah; someone she understood. Not to mention Jared, Paul and Sam. Her heart strings had been yanked; she missed them all so much. "I miss them too," she murmured, blinking back tears. She didn't even notice Tyler; she was too upset. And then she thought of her father and she became even more upset. She looked down at her book and flicked at the pages, trying to hide her saddness. |
