That stupid look drove Jake insane sometimes. The boy scowled a little and gave all his attention to his tarantula. He didn't care much about the new year thing... He was happy enough to keep his head down this year after the events of last term. As for helping Lawson, Jake was preeeeeeetty sure the last time he'd helped the man had ended in total disaster.

"Still wwwwanna go hhhhome," he commented quietly. Sure, he'd buckle down and do some work... Well, he'd do all his work, go to all his classes, try to get good grades... But he wanted to go home. Jake'd do anything to go to smuggle school instead. "But... I gggguess I huhh-have to ssstay."



"It's..." Jake stalled for a moment. London was a big place, Jake lived in all kinds of places in London, the best of which was the place he lived now. "Interesting." Really, Jake just wanted to stay out of the muggle kids' way. They were a scary bunch.

Oooooh, America. Jake had never been over there. "Wwwwhere ab-abouts?" he asked, referring to the state or just in general.

Well, at least Arya had heard whatJake had said about wanting to go home. All Jake had to mention was the three dead Hufflepuffs last year and mayyyyybe Lawson getting attacked. But no. That wouldn't be very good, and he had no idea how the Head Honcho would react to propaganda around the school. But still... He could voice his opinion. "I hhhhate it hhhhere," Jake admitted quietly, not going into detail.

Sitting watching Arya was interesting... Since she seemed to be communicating with someone all secret like. "Whhat in thhhhe world are yuh-you ddddoing?" he asked, visibly amused.

Still shamefully shaking her head in mock humor Allison opened the paper crane and read the note. Arya had just told her about the professor sitting next to her, and had caught the interest of Allison with the mention of Charlie the spider. Turning over to the Hufflepuff table Allison shouted above the voices to be heard, "Arya!" Once she caught her attention Allison nodded quickly about meeting in the Hall after the feast.
