"See mommy was trowing me in the air, and she began to sneeze so she couldn't catch me before we knew it all the pillows in the house had appeared underneath me I don't remember how old I was but the bed was there as well." she said and the smile faded. "Adopted daddy didn't like it though, he thought I was posses, he couldn't take it so he left us," she said but a smile still spread on her lips. "But mommy stayed with me and we read books to try to explain what was occurring, none made sense except one about demons, and devils, oh yeah and imps, so mommy left that possibility saying that nothing so cute and so pure could ever be that." she said and giggled. "So when I got the letter telling me about the school we were so happy, they also told me that I was a full wizard they said pure-blood? I am unsure what that means but I think its a funny thing or is it serious?" she asked confused. Nunually was now so full of energy that she looked around to see if there were more pastries around. "Before I forget I was wondering if I could know your name? As soon as tomorrow rolls around I am sending mother a letter about all the people I meet here." she said happily.
Evelyn smacked herself on the head.
"Oh my gosh. How could I forget? I'm Evelyn. Evelyn Rochester. And don't worry yourself with all that pure-blood, half-blood, muggle-born nonsense. It's not important. A witch is a witch and a wizard is a wizard, no matter how magical their ancestors are," Evelyn took a big gulp of her cranberry juice. Her throat was getting parched from all this talking.
"It's so strange hearing about how you grew up. It's so different to my family. I can't imagine just having a mother. I have a HUGE family. I know all my aunts and uncles and cousins and second cousins. Everyone on my mum's side is a witch or wizard, and everyone on my dad's side, except for his sister, my Aunt Olivia, is a muggle. But both sides love being together. It can be quite entertaining seeing us all try to function together in our different ways," Evelyn giggled, remembering her Grandma's amazement and confusion when Evelyn's father had told his mother-in-law that he didn't travel to work by portkey. She wanted to laugh even more at the memory of her Uncle Sweeney, who sat in her muggle cousin Elizabeth's car for an hour, trying to get it to start my poking and shouting at it.
Evelyn lifted her cup to her lips, trying to hide her smirk. But, just as she took a sip, a laugh came bursting out of her. The cup tipped and Evelyn was covered in cranberry juice. She jumped to her feet, the juice dripping all over the table and floor.
Am I allowed to cast a cleaning spell? I'm not really sure of the rules here. Evelyn slunk back down into her seat, not wanting to draw attention to herself. She wiped the juice from her chin and combed her fingers through her wet hair.
Don't stress. It's fine. Evelyn grabbed what she hoped was a napkin from the middle of the table and begun wiping down her robes.
"I'm okay. Don't worry. It's fine. Nothing to worry about. I'll clean it up. I'm fine," she muttered to the students near her, giving them an awkward, reassuring smile.
Well, that was exciting...
