"Why? Was that what you said, I say was that what you said?" Was that what he had said? It would be a terrible embarassment on his part to answer incorrectly. What if he asked for a spoon?

"I did that, my petit popinjay, because how else am I supposed to contend with myself? I would look in the mirror and see a uniform not Chaucer- and to be honest, I do like to see the old boy every so often. Besides, it could be a new trend I think." He looked down at the tie in admiration.
