The last light of the house had been extinguished, and she looked forward to a trouble-free sleep. Apolline Delacour closed her eyes, but he had yet to be exhausted of talk - he was excited that he had been promoted, quite excited.

"Mr. Delacour."

He stopped talking, raised an eyebrow at the last name. "Apolline?"

"Do you realize," she sat up. "That you have been talking non-stop for the past five minutes? Or that it's useless to discuss the monetary benefits of this job? -- we are already quite rich."

He grinned. "I love you."

"I love you, too."
