Fred stood dumbstruck-him mouth open, his cheek stinging, with no clue what had just happend. Not all the underwear were Ginny's? Why would Hermione keep her underwear in Ginny's trunk? Fred would just never understand girls. He glanced over to George. Something was up here....Fred knew that look. George was behind this, he could read that look better than he could any book. He was veryfamiliar with it, and used it at least two times a day himself. But, he couldn't be too mad at George..it WAS brilliant....but something told Fred that George had other motives.
Fred ran after Hermione, grabbed her hand and stopped her. His heart dropped as he saw the tears rolling down her cheeks. "Oh Mione...don't cry..." Fred lifted up the hem of shirt and wiped away the rolling tears. "I...well I think you have lovely underwear." That really didn't seem to help things. So Fred took another route. He took her by the hand again and took her out of earshot from George and sat her on the steps to the porch. "Look..I didn't know they were yours. I wouldn't of done that to you, Hermione. I wouldn't of....," he said using his fingers to wipe away the tears this time. |
