Actress Fiona Shaw, best known to fans for playing Harry's Muggle Aunt Petunia in the
Harry Potter series, was recently profiled by the
Times Online. Fiona spoke about her acting career, as well as all the productions she's participated in, including
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where she will play Petunia Dursley for the final time. She comments briefly on her time at Leavesden Studios for the past ten years.
Quote:
"Harry Melling, the young man who plays my son in Mother Courage, plays my son in Potter (they are Petunia and Dudley Dursley respectively), and we’re the poor relations. We never do any magic, we have it done to us. The odd thing is leaving the set and to see 3,000 people march on: 1,000 children, 1,000 parents and 1,000 minders. Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith sit there for hours waiting for them to file in."
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released on November 19, 2010 and July 15, 2011.
