Hogwarts RPG Name:
Delana Deirdre
Fifth Year
Default

Delana had just finished cleaning when above her another balloon popped. Like an idiot, she stood there and literally watched it come down and hit her. The upper half of her body was drenched in a kind of wattery, brownish purple sludge. And it got In. Her. EYES.
Ahh! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
She furiously tried to wipe the goopy mess from her face... But that wasn't all, oh no... it wasn't just one balloon this time. She'd been hit with several.
Already wet and shaking cold, she decided to open her eyes, hoping she'd got most of the potion(s?) wiped off.... but wait... it was... dark. . .? It was still dark.
I'm blind.... she thought to herself.. trying to keep the panic level down. I. AM. B-L-I-N-D. She sat down, luckily she knew where her chair was... Blind. ... and... cold? She tried to decide if she was cold because she was wet... or because one of the potions made her cold. Sitting for a few minutes, she began to feel colder. She shivered viotently, never in her life had she been so cold. She pulled her legs to her stomach on her chair, rubbing her arms and trying not to freeze to death. For a few seconds she actually forgot about being blind. Having gathered her thoughts, she went through all the ingredients she might need, deciding that making 2 potions would be better. One to warm her up, and the other to be topically applied so she could see again. She tried to come up with a counter-potion with the ingredients she already had... but it was impossible. She forced herself off the chair, gasping as the cold air hit her. Slowly, she made her way to the ingredients, holding her trembling arms out in front of her. She knew her way around the classroom better than her own home, but she still didn't want to knock anything over... like a person... or a person's potion. Managing to only bump into one person along the way, who she thought was the professor, she hoped everyone had put the ingredients in order, and the she remembered correctly where they were.

"Okay... Okay. Uhmm.. Peppermint... pomegranate.. She went through all the ingredients in her head, grabbing anything and everthing that she might possibly need. The journey back was even slower. Her arms full of ingredients, she tried her hardest not to drop anything. Once, she almost sat at the wrong table, but luckily realized and got back to her chair eventually. She sat back in her nice familiar chair, putting down her ingredients one by one in the exact order she picked them out.

Taking a deep breath, she began to brew the first potion, the one that would hopefully cure her blindness. According to her reasoning, that one would take longer and had more waiting time, so she could finish the other one while the first was simmering.

First... 4 drops of pomegranate. She went through the ingredient on her table until she got to the one she needed. Wait... drops...? Drops... How can I measure drops if I can't see?! She opened the bottle and put her head close the the potion, if she couldn't see them, all she could do was try to hear them, right? Slowly tipping her hand, she let one drop fall into the water.. and she heard it! Well she thought she heard it... Tilting her hand again, she tried to measure out 3 more drops. The shivering definantly didn't make matters and easier.....
And so it went, brewing her first potion blind, hoping she got the correct ingredients in the correct ammounts... and even then, what if her conter-potion was just flat out wrong?!

Peppermint, ginger, nettles... all her ingredients were ready and set out as she continued her next potion. This was was going to be simple... except the nettles. She had to finely chop those nettles. Clearing off a place on her table, she hoped that she wouldn't cut her fingers off, she cut up the nettles into what she hoped was fine slices. Bringing this potion to a boil, she went over to the first... it had been 5 minutes right? There's no clock to watch when you can't see. Desperate and impaitent, Delana took some of her potion and prayed it would work... With shaking hands, she let one drop fall into her left eye... and... slowly, light appeared and she could make out hazy shapes around her. She was so happy. She could have cried. Administering another drop into her left eye, she followed with 2 drops to her right. HUZZAH!
Quickly, she went over and checked her other other potion... it looked okay. LOOKED. Happy about her newly gained sight, she took a dose of her potion and felt the cold immediately vasish. She cleaned up her potion ingredients and wrote down her notes... there were alot this time.

She'd just heard her summer assignment as yet MORE balloons popped over her. At least this time, everyone was hit.... Sne noted the effects... her hands were growing. Seriously growing. Fast! Luckily for her, this potion was one from the books. One she knew by heart. Before much swelling could take place, she had her shrinking solution ready.

Back to her original size, she finished her notes and gathered her things. The summer assignment seemed easy enough... she was basically there already.

"Thanks for the amazing year Professor. She said, putting away all the ingredients. She was really going to miss potions... like ALOT. "Sorry I didn't answer any questions...." She made her way back toward her table, feeling numb. She sat back down and went over her potions notebook a few more times, fixing any mistakes. She was pretty sure she'd failed that. Delana wanted to crawl into a hole and die. Ugh... stupid, stupid, stupid....
