There were a few moments of very awkward silence. He kept trying to think of things to say, casual, friendly small talk, but none of it could seem to form. The situation was practically devised for extreme awkwardness. Not to mention, he didn't even know how he felt about this guy. He certainly didn't seem like a fan-girl magnet, so maybe Alex was just paranoid. "Right...," he finally said, but it would probably seem really unkind to just walk away now. And it would probably raise some suspicions.

"I haven't done any studying for the OWLs yet," he finally said. "It would probably benefit me to pass those as well. Do you have any idea what career you're aiming for?" There. That was something.
