"Pardon me, I spaced there for a second and thought I heard you say something about marriage." Annie actually laughed and took a step back toward him, wafting the letter about still. "C'mon Axe. What's your real good news? I can be happy for you."
But not about marriage... because surely he was joking about that....
Folding his arms across his chest, Marcus watched Annie intently for her reaction. Not that it mattered what she thought but he had to admit he was curious as to see how she was going to take the news.
He caught her wrist in his hand and tapped the envelope with his wand, not taking his eyes off her. "I'm serious Annie. I am getting married." Marcus nodded towards the now opened letter in her hand. "Read it for yourself" he said quietly, still watching her intently.
