Annie had taken one step forward and toward a golden-ish-fluffy owl, but took a step back at the voice coming from the doorway. She squinted at the door in the afternoon sunlight but then recognized him. Ahhhhhha. Marcus.
"These old things?" The redhead blew him off with a swish of her hand. Of course they were hardly more than a few weeks old but she wasn't going to let him get to her. Because she didn't care what Marcus had to say or if he happened to notice how the green matched her robes perfectly and contrasted her hair nicely.

"So.... did you stalk me all the way to the Owlery, Axe?" She turned back to the owls and made a 'come here' motion to the golden one. Of course it didn't budge. His smile widened even more at her remark because he knew that's exactly what she was going to say. "Now, now Annie, don't go flattering yourself thinking that I am following you around." No. Those days were definitely over. "I'm here to send a letter to my family." Marcus, took the envelope out of his pocket and held it up for her to see, so that she would know that he was telling the truth. Of course she should know that he never lied.
Marcus, pushed off the door frame and sauntered over to her. With his free hand he took out an owl pellet and held it out to the owl that she was trying to coax down from its perch. It promptly flew down and landed on his hand and he gave it the treat. He turned his head to look at Annie, a small twinkle in his eye. "See what happens when you are nice? You tend to get the same treatment in return." And he wasn't just talking about the owl either.
"So how have you been Anastasia? Been a while since I last saw you." Actually Marcus, couldn't even recall the last time that he had seen her.
