Oh... she did know.
Craaaaaaaap.
Acting all innocent, Jake took the folded parchment from Reese and opened it up, taking his time in making out the words, which was made all the easier, since his dad's handwriting was quite neat.
Folding the letter up and handing it back, Jake didn't change his expression and he shrugged again. "It's tuuuuhhhh-tuh-truue."
Yes.
Yes it was.
Reese placed one hand on her hip, and looked back at the trophies. It was difficult to think about Jake NOT coming back to the house. I mean, who was going to play with Dale? Jake usually played with him, and so did Ryan. But, now Ryan was getting ready to move out to some apartment within the next few weeks, she was going to pretty much be the only child there besides Dale. Which sucked...majorly. And, she was planning on going to Greece with Jack and Torin and everyone else for the first 3 weeks of summer, so who was going to be there to play airplanes with Dale? Maybe she could ask Keith to when he wasn't busy.
Yes, this was a sister that cared.
"I never said it wasn't the truth," she calmly spoke as she looked back at Jake. "I'm just upset that you didn't tell me." Sighing, she looked down at the letter in Jake's hands. "First, Jakers, I want to know why you don't want to live mom and dad. Second, I want you to promise me that you will keep in touch over the summer. I'm going to be away in Greece with Jack and Torin and Tammy and whoever else is coming for the first 2 or 3 weeks of summer and I want to make sure you're okay every now and then. And, if you don't call me or text me, I'm going to get worried." Very worried.
