"The Whomping Willow has been here at Hogwarts for almost one hundred years. It first appeared on the grounds in september of 1971 and aside from it being a known landmark and familiar sight on the school grounds for almost a century, there is another more significant reason for us to study it today. It was not planted for decorative purposes, does anyone know why the Whomping Willow was planted?"
