Kiri was a few minutes early, so the door to the greenhouse was still closed. She could hear Professor Bunbury pottering around inside, though, so Kiri would not have to wait long. Besides, it was a nice day. With the unappealing Hogwarts spring finally gone, people were able to spend more and more time outside, and Kiri had taken to grabbing her bag and doing homework and revision at the lake.

Finally, the professor appeared behind the glass door and opened it. "Hello, Professor," said Kiri, scrambling to her feet. "Er, interesting shoes." She could not believe the professor wasn't constantly tripping over and breaking her ankles in the greenhouses, walking around in shoes like those. Kiri filed past her into the damp and warm interior of the greenhouse.
