It turned out they weren't.
It was actually worse. And Kapoors mind blanked out momentarily. The severity of the confession causing him to freeze, blood and mind. When he was able to bring himself back into the moment he gave his beard a thoughtful and slow stroke or two as he considered the possible meanings for such a dream.
Kapoor reached around his robes. Various pockets being turned out until at last the elusive handkerchief was located and dispensed to Jake. "There, there, Jake. It was only a dream. And despite the things that Divination tells us about what our dreams mean, sometimes dreams are only just that. Dreams. And nothing more." Kapoor said in an effort to comfort Jake. Likely, the boy was feeling the stress of having lost two of his housemates this term. "The waste of our daily mental expenditure."
Taking the handkerchief from Kapoor, Jake's breath hitched as he carefully wiped the tears away, giving the man a sad smile. "Kazi... Didn't ttttake it this well. I think he thinks it's real... Called LouAnn to talk to him... We got called off when Lawson..." Jake's eyes filled with tears again when he remembered the disjointed memory from that night. "I remember you there outside the office... I rrrrrrrran away fffrom Kaz... I haven't gone back to talk to him."
The reassurance from Kapoor meant that Jake felt more comfortable in talking about the rest. "Anyone who was at the deathday party heard Myrtle telling the world that I murdered someone," Jake sniffed, his voice breaking up in his upset. "I just... dunno what to do."
