He listened as she talked about the band thing and wasn't sure what to say to her. "They are mean people. I'm sorry, I wish I knew about that kind of thing to help you." He patted her hand gently and thought that there was something that he wanted to tell her, but he wasn't sure how to.
"Reese, I feel terrible." He sighed and placed his hands over his face in frustration.
When Torin began to twirl one of the curly strands of hair around his finger, she stopped twirling the strand that she had been twirling around her index finger for the last few minutes. "You...you do? I always thought it looked too out-of-control when it's curly," she admitted. Oh, well. It might have been just her who thought that. Apparently, according to this Hufflepuff sitting next to her, it looks good and she was crazy to think it looked bad. "I'm glad you love it, though," she added.
She shrugged. "There isn't much
I can even do," she stated. "I just have to sit here and wait...
and wait...
and wait until I get a reply back from them. Hopefully I'll know this summer if I can have my own contract."
Hopefully, that was a really big word to use for this scenario. Remembering her little talk with the people at the studio, by the way they talked, it seemed like they WEREN'T going to give her the contract. But, things change, right? It wasn't like she was able to record anything this summer, so they might wait until AFTER she graduates to give the contract to her (if they were giving it to her in the first place). Waiting until after she graduates was toooo long for her to wait, so hopefully, she would get it this summer just so she can say she knows what she is doing after she graduates.
"You should feel terrible," she spoke. "You spelled..." She was about to point out something on Torin's study sheet that he had spelled wrong, but then she noticed something really important was bothering him just by the expression on his face. "Torin, what's wrong?" She asked. You could tell by the tone of her voice that she really cared about what was bothering her friend.
