And she was fairly certain several other Ravies were going to be gunning for regaining control again too, so Huffies were going down. This truce was only going to be temporary. Not that she wasn't still going to be Torin's friend after the fact. That was something that went beyond houses. "And why would I tell Reese about this?," she drawled with the hint of a laugh as he brought their mututal Slythie friend up. Even though even she had to acknowledge the relationship between Reese and Torin was probably way deeper than hers was with him. She'd only really truly met the other girl this term with the whole Team Lupa stuff, and that went back to the argument inside her head that she was trying to ignore. So she was grateful when the Quidditch talk continued. That was about as far from werewolves as could be, really. Another mischievous look crossed her face as she responded to his challenge. "You really think you could? I might surprise you, you know." he didn't know the half of her Quidditch skills. She wasn't Rose Devereaux's daughter for nothing, after all. And she grinned at his comment about broken noses. "You keep saying that, Torin, sweetie. But I still think it remains to be seen." Teasing him was just so much fun. Almost as much as her odd rapport with Phoebus.
A thoughtful look flickered past on her face as he explained the issue with Lucille, though, as she chose to ignore his eye roll. "It sounds like she feels threatened. Like, you're the safe one, and that was why she had wanted you to give Warren CPR. But why your shirts would have become her target is beyond me." She wasn't about to expend her energy trying to understand some of the other girls at school. Which was probably why she'd technically chosen to stay out of the whole Brody situation. It was just safer for her. "I'm sorry. That things are going badly," she said in response to his comment, feeling a little awkward. But then his mood seemed to change at her mention of shirts, and she brightened. "Well, they're kinda my brother's. Not Riley, my older brother Christopher." Lowering her voice a little, as if she was afraid of being overheard, she contuinued. "I might have kinda, um, borrowed," okay, stolen, "some of his shirts to use for nightshirts or something. but I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I let you use them. Since you're a friend in need and all." And lucky for him Christopher was taller than Riley. If he even chose to take her up on her offer. "Because she will get annoyed with me," he replied to her as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Everyone knew that Reese and him bickered like siblings. And he really didn't need to deal with her getting all Reeselike with him over the House points. Even if this deal thing was only a joke. And the Quidditch talk.. He loved it. "Oh, you have no idea, Ad. I'd be very afraid if I were you." He gave her a playful wink.
Her take on the Lucille was interesting. "I think she's just evil." No need to go an further than that. He then moved on to the more important matter at hand, which was the shirts. "Why, you little thief," he told her with a tone that showed how impressed he was by that. "Well, that would be great. If they fit." |
