Marcus, carried her all the way to the stables and gently lowered her to the ground. He turned around so that he could face her and he took her face into his hands and placed light kiss on her lips. Wrapping his arms around her, he hugged her tight to him and nuzzled her hair. "I am so glad that I am still around to enjoy this with you."

Why did he bring that up? Probably because his near brush with death had made his realise that he had spent too many wasted years, doing all the wrong things. Now he had the chance to do everything right.
