Standing on a wobbly chair, Kiri stretched her arm out as far as it would go. The tome she wanted to grab, A comprehensive study of Egyptian curses in the Old Kingdom, was just out of reach. With only a few centimetres to spare, the chair creaked dangerously, and Kiri decided to give up. Ancient curses weren't worth a broken arm or neck. With a sigh, she climbed down and shoved the chair away. Today was the first day in months where she hadn't taken her wand with her when she left the common room, it figured that she needed it now.
