Macadrian circled the room, checking the students' work as she went. She came across the parchment of Marie and corrected one thing, "Your math is entirely correct. However, your E Mental Transit ended on your 11th birthday. And from that moment that entered back into a 'J' transit, which runs from age 11 til your 12th birthday." Quote:

When she had finished with that - it only took her a few moments, she continued with the Spiritual Transit. Professor Shackleton-Clark wandered to the next few desks, where she found Kiri's parchment, "When you have no middle name, you use your last name to determine both your Mental and Spiritual Transit. The first name is only used for the Physical Transit." Quote:

If you add six years to one, the result it seven. I suggest fixing this and the remainder of your numbers accordingly." Quote:

Strangely furious with himself, Jake thought hard and used the textbook to help him out, still cursing himself under his breath.
Without checking that, Jake moved onto his last name... names.
Oh crap.
Waiitttt...
Staring at his parchment for a moment, Jake raised his hand remembering that Shackleton missing this question last time was the reason he'd totally blown up at her. "P'fessor... double barrel name... do... do I just ssuhh-squish it... like... like the muuuhhh-middle names?" Professor Shackleton-Clark made her way around to Jake's desk and heard his question as she approached, "Yes, Jake, that is exactly how you treat multiple last names as well." Quote:

"There is a slight mathematical error here with the 'N' in your middle name. The range should be from age 1 to age 6, not five. If you add five years to one, the result it six. I suggest fixing this and the remainder of your numbers accordingly." Quote:

She settled on writing her name on her parchment and arbitrarily assigning numbers to the letters. She didn't understand the purpose of Arithmancy, but she figured writing something down could give the appearance that she had an idea of what was going on.
She did her best to hide her shoddy workmanship. Hopefully no one would notice she hadn't properly done the assignment. "I'm not quite sure what you're doing here, but it certainly isn't Arithmancy. Please reference Chapter two of the textbook and review the Pythagorean number chart before assigning numbers to the letters in your middle and last names."
