It felt like books were jabbing him every which way.
"Looks like we got the same idea," he slowly sat back up, rubbing his now sore back. "Why do you have all these books out anyways?" Rafe scooched back to lean against the wall and began taking out a few of his own books. He didn't even bother asking if she minded if he was there. They were best friends after all, why would she mind?
Arianna was startled as well as Rafe entered. She gasped and dropped the book in her hands, but as she watch him set himself across from her on the floor, she picked it up again.
"I have books because I like to read remember? I'm just trying to get ahead of this here, I've been a little behind lately" she said nonchalantly writing something in her notebook looking up again. She felt awkward, like she had to apologise for the other day, but at the same time she didn't want to do it, so instead she babbled
"So what have you been up to? Kissed any more damsels in distress?" that came out wrong, she though, quickly correcting it "
I mean, are you getting yourself stressed?" that didn't made sense too. She bit her lip.
