Athena was very happy with herself when the boy jumped. He should be afraid of her because he didn't even ask Fallon if it was okay to pet her. She hooted softly in Fallon's ear.
"Sorry about that," Fallon said as she watched Athena snap at Nate and then flutter up to her shoulder. She heard the soft little hoot in her ear. "Did he scare you? It's okay. He wouldn't have hurt you," she whispered to the little owl perched upon her shoulder.
Fallon turned back to Nate. "Really. What's happened then?" She raised an eyebrow, curious as to what he was talking about.
Nicoletta climbed up a few steps until she found Demitri. She patted his head and he hooted affectionately. She pulled out a pice of parchment and scribbledd on it hastily:
