Just a friendly squeeze around the wrists for a moment and then all the vines and arms of the Devil's Snare retreated back into its giant mass and it went stationary again, absolutely immobile.

Bunz watched the small exchange with a blank expression until the plant had calmed itself. "Ah, there, see, no harm done to any students," she muttered to herself, still blinking at it as if surprised the apology had worked. Snarey had never been that forgiving of her. "I'd suggest backing away now though, both of you," she added, steering Josh and Rafe away from the plant slightly. Odd that it had been somewhat nice to those two. Hmm.

"Does anyone else wish to step up and offer an arm or leg to the Devil's Snare?" Anastasia scooped up the bin of wands and chucked her current one in there. She'd be picking out another one shortly. "Hurry up, a few of you can go at a time. Just don't panic."

Rafe laughed as the devil's snare gave him a squeeze. It was like the plant was giving him a little handshake or its way of saying hello. Rafe gave Josh a nod as they both had survived the "ferocious" snare. It was actually quite cute. Though Rafe was sure the plant wouldn't want that reputation.

Rafe took a couple of steps back. "Thank you Professor Bunbury, that was quite an experience!" he said cheerfully. Hopefully other students wouldn't go in quite a panic. If you just remained calm, the snare was as gentle as a puppy. "So plants have feelings?" Rafe asked, but it was clear that he kind of already knew the answer. "It's just like other species in the wizarding world...goblins, vampires...werewolves...they're very misunderstood, but once you get to know them and approach them in a kind manner, they're not as dangerous as their reputation."
