Theme 45: Tarantallegra

Without his glasses, it was hard to see anything but the hazy edges of the four-posters in the dormitory. James swung his legs over the side of his bed and stood up, reaching for his glasses. The world swam into clearer view, and he picked a light book off his bedside table, and threw it at Sirius.

"Wazzamatter?" Sirius's voice came from under the blankets.

"Merry Christmas," James replied, and he scooped a handful of presents in his arms. There was a box of chocolates from his parents; transparent boxer-shorts from Sirius; a wristwatch from Remus; pink earrings from Alice [the note attached read, "Next time you tease me with Frank's name, I'll tell Lily you own pink earrings that glow in the dark"] - and then his jaw dropped open, his eyes huge.

"Anything wrong, mate?" Sirius asked, from the bed next, a bar of chocolate dangling from his mouth.

"I'm not sure," James replied, and he held up the latest present: a miniature figure of his own self, dancing as if it had become a victim of a perpetual "Tarantallegra," and wearing nothing but boxers. The note attached read,

"From Lily. With love."
