"Maybe," Jake sniffed, taking another sip of water. "Don't see wha-what use it-it-it is anyway," he added bitterly, feeling a little dizzy as he thought it. Ugh, really... this was just... not good.
Staring straight at Truebridge Jake blinked once and started to shake his head, before stopping himself, and instead nodding. He was right. Jake was quite aware of what he was doing right at that moment, wasn't he? "Y-yes..." Jake replied, talking very quietly. "But... ffffor how long? Any-any second... it just-" the boy stalled for a second, for some reason not wanting to tell Truebridge this... but if he was on the staff, the man might find out. "I attacked... two people," he said, quite plainly. "Sssseventh years. Wit' magic."
Surely that last little bit of information was enough to show how confused Jake was about this. He had, of course, only found out he attacked them with magic AFTER he'd done it.
"Still don' want me ter go home?"
