In the process of drying his eyes and taking some breaths, Jake saw a blur out of the corner of his eye, that was blocking the sun. Fearing the worst, the boy frantically put his glasses back on and tensed up, but relaxed when he recognised who it was.
"Sir," he gasp-sighed, leaning back against the wall and running a hand through his hair and making it stick up on one side. That was good timing... Jake had planned to go looking for Truebridge pretty soon. "I dddddi'n't know y'was th-there..." he stammer-slurred, looking round at the man and hiccoughing.
"I wasn't." Truebridge answered matter-of-factly. True enough, he'd not been there long. He gave Jake a brief look and took the cherry wand from his holster, conjuring a mug and filling it with water.
"Drink." He offered the cup and reholstered the wand.
