When Jake started crying, Mac didn't know how to react. She wanted to believe Jake was being sincere, but his behavior suggested otherwise. Regardless of whether he was truly sorry, he still needed to be punished. "Mr. Upstead, I do not tolerate cheek in my classroom, nor do I tolerate the violence you just exhibited. I could have you expelled for such actions!" Macadrian's face was flushed with frustration and her brows mashed together in confusion.

"However, this behavior seems to be very unusual for you. Did something happen at home to make you lash out this way? Is something going on? You can talk to me about them, Jake, instead of taking out your frustrations on your classmates and the staff." She wondered if there were family issues going on or if there was something more involved... Well, she'll get to the bottom of it eventually. She is a cursebreaker after all - puzzles are her specialty.

"Mr. Upstead, you will report for detentions with me every Tuesday night until I determine that you've learned that your actions have repurcussions. Combine these with your Saturday detentions for Professor Kazimeriz and it looks like you have a pretty busy schedule." Macadrian's mouth was a thin line of disappointment. "I expect you in my office tonight. And I suggest you be on your best behavior. You may receive your wand back tonight, if I'm feeling generous."
