Sucking down her last gulp of butterbeer, Simone sadly placed the empty bottle on the table. She wanted some more but it was getting late and they really needed to get going on their Muggle Studies homework.
Kiri and herself had been having a great day. This was really the first time she had actually gotten to see Hogsmeade. Last term she didnt really have anyone to go with so she never went. She really liked it. It was a good break from the humdrum school life.
"Yeah, I think so. But what shall we take a picture of? Someone was screaming about snakes a few minutes ago. That would be an interesting picture." She grinned, reaching for her butterbeer bottle, then frowned because she forgot it was empty.
"Snakes? In here?" Kiri resisted the temptation to peer below the table or pull up her legs. Something else attracted her attention, though. The expression on Simone's face as she tried to drink out of the empty Butterbeer bottle. Exasperation, disappointment and a cross-eyed sort of look as she tried to squint down her own nose at the bottle, they formed a picture-perfect moment.
Picture perfect!
Before Simone could put the bottle down on the table again, Kiri had already lunged for her camera, nearly spilling the rest of
her Butterbeer in the process. She was so excited (and unused to Muggle technology) that she was aiming the camera the wrong way around.
There was a flash of blinding light. Gasping and giggling, Kiri turned the camera around by feeling alone and pressed the release again. Through her blinking eyes, she could vaguely see the flash go off a second time. She slumped back in her creaking seat, laughing loudly now.
