Tino did not have time to explain to these clueless people what a robot was. He pointed down. "You could kick her."

Cela was speaking again! Tino lunged to her side, lowering his ear so she didn't have to make a huge effort. Hmmmm. The offer to hold her hand was extremely tempting. He eyed the delicate fingers of her functioning limb. She probably had soft skin. . . Tino's gaze flickered towards the tip of Bunbury's wand, which was uncomfortably close to his face.

Though maybe if he had seen Jake come in.... he'd have had a reason to panic.
Tino felt a surge of adrenaline (fear? adrenaline?) through his insides, and his stomach flipped. A challenge! A true, villainous-phrased challenge! 'Step aside or flee. . .' Wait a minute. That wasn't a choice at all. That was like choosing between 'I win, or you lose'. What a crock. Bunbury needed to go re-pot her plants. Tino crossed his arms, still blocking Bunbury's spellpath. "Pink is the color of insanity!," he announced. He was lying--it was actually yellow, but psychology was half the battle. "Until we have a proper doctor--none shall pass!"
