Now he was starting to recover and he was left with this.... Clenching his jaw he stood up and placed his notepad back in his pocket. He couldn't deal with this. Not now. Walking toward the exit he said over his shoulder, "Let her go Prometheus." Stopping at the doorway he placed his hand against it and looked at her a mixture of anger, anguish, and longing in his eyes. "If you want to be put away go see Forrester. I will not do it." Turning down the corridor he headed for the breakroom.
Bella just waited. His lack of response alarmed her more than it would if he were shouting. Like the calm before the storm she knew there would be anger, afterall she had left him but she felt somewhat unregretful for that fact. Would she really have been able to live the rest of her life with the injustice in her past? No, she would've gone sooner or later. She watched him as he got up, what she thought was anger emanating from him. She felt terrible for that fact.
She felt as if she'd ruined his life in coming back rather than in leaving. He'd built it all up and here she was crumbling it. For that, she felt immeasurably guilty. At his command to Prometheus, she sighed looking away from the ex-auror and at his young employee. The young man seemed a little confused and she couldn't blame him. Hearing the door open, Bella turned hearing Warren speak and tried to read his expression. Finding no one particular emotion she heard the door close after him and felt a little like it was deja-vu, just it was the wrong office.
She got up and smiled slightly at the young man, "I appreciate your patience. Good day"
With that, she picked up the coat from the floor and left the room. She needed some space and some freedom and most importantly a shower.
