Now, don't tell him but they're sugar free and they contain a bit of potion to help cure upset tummies." She beamed and handed the boy the cookies before skipping out ot the waiting room.
As Jake took the cookies into his hand, he literally took one sniff of them before going green and struggling to to puke. How would he manage this? Choke down food when his stomach was protesting so violently?
But they were sugar free? That was... did she know about his intolerance as well as having those extremely odd cookies? Why else would she have mentioned it.
Telling his stomach he would only put the food so it rested on his tongue, so his stomach wouldn't react too soon, Jake took a tiny bite from one of the cookies and gagged for a moment, laying his head down on the pillow and closing his eyes until the potion worked. Luckily enough, it started working more or less straight away.
Opening his eyes slowly, Jake found he could move with more comfort, though he really didn't want to eeeeeeeat. Grrrr. Besides, he was relatively fine now, though he had no idea he was still pale and slightly sweaty (but that wouldn't show, right?).
Stuffing the cookies under his pillow, Jake sat up gingerly and waited for the nurse to reappear so he could announce that he was leaving. Really, Professor Morgan and her forcing him to take Pepper-Up Potion was better than this.
Err... slightly.
Deciding not even to wait, Jake made a bid for freedom, and was soon out.
