Silence left him time to think. Time to think was...bad. His jaw clenched as she spoke and he, "That's none of your bloody business." Why was it that he found himself regressing back to the way he was more and more when he'd finally found a little peace in himself.
Her scoff brought him out of his daze and he looked at her. Was she trying to make him angry, "I have killed people...plural. And no...my conscience doesn't bother me one bit. They deserved it.....all of them..." he trailed off and glanced at his employee certain things in his life that only one person knew all of and she wasn't there. "That's not why it is familiar...or not the only reason. My...I knew someone who was also looking for him." Knew. The past tense didn't sit well with him at all. Picking up his glass he took a large swallow and set it down. He wished she sent him a letter! How hard was that.... He had to stop himself from going on some tangent in his head that would leave him going to Forrester's office and grabbing a bottle of Firewhiskey off his bar.
"I know women can kill...very well..." Oh yes he did. The one who tried to kill him so long ago...the one that Alexa had managed to save him for a change. His thoughts came back around and he looked at her, "That's not what I was asking. Why did you kill him?"
Bella couldn't help but laugh. Forrester hadn't changed either. "Right. Forrester is an.. interoggator then?" Keeping up pretenses wasn't so simple.
Bella rolled her eyes, "Goodness, awfully angry aren't you? Relax."
"Oh!" She muttered in sarcastic delight, "We have more in common than you first thought! Does you boss know you've killed people?" She smiled happily but it vanished as quickly as it appeared, "What the bloody hell are you doing here if you a murderer?" The woman raised an eyebrow and then lifted her hand to her surveyal carefully tracing the deep gash which was still red raw.
"Then you have no heart" She spat, her eyes flashing dangerously as she looked up at him, "They might have been scum but they were still humans with families and they deserve a little respect no matter what they did" Empathetic for her father's killer? She dismissed that thought with a glare Warren's way.
"Fabulous. Ajahil had a fanclub." She muttered, feigning ignorance. She bit her bottom lip illdisguising how much that stung. Alexa was dead to him apparently and Bella didn't know how if she wanted to let Alexa go just yet.
"Oh, I had you pinned as a chauvinist, obviously I was wrong" She yawned and rolled her neck. Ministry chairs weren't exactly luxe.
Bella waited as he turned pensive and she wondered what he was thinking. "I wanted revenge" Hadn't she said that already?
