Leaning forward once again in the chair and giving the old man a steely gaze, Marcus continued. "So not only do you profess to know my opinions and motivations, but you think you know Professor Lupa's as well? You assume much, Lawson... unless of course you are quite the legilimens... in which case, it must be quite tiring to carry the moral burden of knowing that you are disrespecting your colleagues by prying into their mindspace, uninvited."
He paused, sharpening his focus back on Lawson.
"But of course, that assumes that you are actually demonstrating skill in the art of legilimency. Of course, I can only speak for myself in stating that your observations thus far have been unremarkable, even obtuse."
He turned to Alessia; smiling warmly at the young woman.
"Alessia, perhaps would you favor us with your viewpoint. Is Mr. Lawson accurate where you are concerned? That is, did you find fault with my attempt to answer a student's distress call, knowing as we do that there have been several individuals--" his eyes shifted to Newtington for the moment, then back to Alessia
